Jason Konopinski is to blame for this post. Although I have contemplated writing a post about why I draw comics for a few months, I usually set the topic aside in favor of other subjects. I was content with that reality until Jason published his post about why he podcasts. I then had to ask myself, “Do people wonder why I draw comics?” With that thought, I resolved to write about why I draw the Write Right comics.

My Little Loves
Today’s post is in response to Jason Konopinski’s “The Things I Love,” but the title is stolen from my friend Leilani Carrasco Smith. She publishes a semi-regular series of posts entitled “My Little Loves,” and she includes things ranging from her mascara to the brush she uses on her cats. Both posts allow Jason’s and Leilani’s readers to get to know them, which is the primary point of the posts. Talking about one’s loves often is more enlightening than talking about what one does.
Jason Konopinski: Chibified
As the winner of the drawing held in honor of the Write Right Launch Party, Jason Konopinski has been chibified. He is pictured with Bailey, his dog, and a novel – or perhaps a collection of poems – by Jack Kerouac. In the story I’ve created, the two are at the dog park. Bailey has fallen asleep after chasing some squirrels, giving Jason some time to read.
And the Winner Is…
And the winner is…not Michael Schechter. Sorry, Michael. The winner is Jason Konopinski. I’m almost certain he’s going to celebrate with a Snoopy dance; at least, I hope he’s excited enough about winning that he’ll want to dance a Snoopy dance.
