It’s been a project two years in the making, but Write Right’s coloring book is finally done and available for purchase! It’s been such fun to work on the drawings, many of which have never been published online—I want people to be as surprised and delighted as I was while I drew them.
Write Right Colors Shakespeare is a coloring book for adults; however, a number of adults are using the book to introduce Shakespeare to kids, either their own or those in their classrooms, day camps, or tutoring sessions. It’s an interesting turn and shows me I never can know how a thing’s going to turn out. I can either go with it or fight it, but why fight this trend? A coloring book is a great way to get kids excited about Shakespeare.
The coloring book features twelve of Shakespeare’s most beloved plays and includes tragedies, histories (some with a Monty Python twist), and comedies. Write Right traipses through all of them, always with her red pen in hand or, at least, in tow. The drawings are each bordered by lines from the play they represent, so it is possible to learn some Shakespearian phrases while coloring. The book also offers mandala-inspired objects—I won’t say “design” since the object is never circular and never fills the page.
But enough with the talking; it’s time for some coloring. Order your Write Right Colors Shakespeare coloring book today!
